Board Member Descriptions

President

  • Preside over all meetings of the organization following parliamentary procedure.
  • Oversee all business of the organization in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Serve as organization representative within the community.
  • Appoint committee chairpersons.
  • Appoint vacancies to the board when necessary.
  • The President shall serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.

VICE PRESIDENT

  • Shall perform all duties assigned by the President.
  • Shall perform all duties of President in his/her absence.
  • Serve as membership chairperson.
  • Serve as nominating committee chairperson.
  • Oversee membership growth and act as membership liaison.

SECRETARY

  • Shall perform all duties assigned by the President.
  • Preside over all meetings in the absence of the President or Vice-President.
  • Maintain permanent records of the organization to include minutes of all general, special and board meetings of the organization.
  • Tend all correspondence and announcements of the organization, such as public announcements through the media, etc. as directed by the President.
  • Maintain calendar of events.

TREASURER

  • Shall perform all duties as assigned by the President.
  • Shall receive and disburse all funds (by check) of the organization.
  • Shall keep and preserve all financial records of the organization.
  • Provide monthly financial statement to organization and an annual financial report.
  • Send yearly dues letter and overdue notices to membership.
  • Apply for any special licenses for the organization.
  • Complete and file all necessary bonding, insurance and tax information.
  • Serve on the fund raising committee.

TRUSTEES: Three Trustees

  • Shall perform such duties as assigned by the President.
  • Serve on the nominating committee under the direction of the Vice President.
  • Serve on the membership committee under the direction of the Vice President.
  • One Trustee shall serve as public relations committee chairperson. Liaison with school organizations, churches, youth groups and community service organizations.
  • One Trustee shall serve as special events committee chairperson.  Special events liaison, membership mixers, etc.
  • One Trustee shall serve as fund raising committee chairperson. Promote fund raising and fund raising activities. The treasurer will also serve on this committee.

PAST PRESIDENT

  • Shall perform all duties as assigned by the President.
